Hear more about the program, ask any questions you may have, and determine if this might fit into your professional development plans over the coming year. Whether you're a seasoned USFN member firm attorney/non-attorney with 10-plus years of industry experience who would like to give back by mentoring an up-and-coming professional or you're a USFN member firm attorney/non-attorney with five or fewer years of industry experience looking for someone outside of your firm to share with you their lessons learned, there's no commitment to participate in the Open House and learn more about the program.

USFN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The purpose of this program is to help less experienced members of firms become more active and engaged with USFN, their firms and the industry. Furthermore, the program is designed to provide both mentors and mentees with professional development and coaching opportunities. To participate, complete the application, and then once matched, leverage the resources to support a productive and mutually beneficial experience. New mentor and mentee applications will be matched on a monthly basis, as needed.
The 12-month journey is divided into two six-month segments.
The first six months follows a structured path covering the following six topics:
  • Goals & Expectations
  • Career Development
  • Industry Engagement
  • Skill Development
  • Communication
  • Work-Life Balance
The second six months are intended to be more free flowing and customized to the mentee's needs using the growing list of USFN discussion starters and mentoring resources found on the Resources Page. Also on this page, you will find short videos about the program and how to be successful as a mentor/mentee match.
Mentors are:
  • USFN member firm attorneys/non-attorney staff with 10-plus years of industry experience
  • Experience speaking at industry events

  • Has a working knowledge of USFN
Mentees are:
  • USFN member firm attorneys/non-attorney staff with five or fewer years of industry experience
