LEARNING EXPERIENCE

is this the same learning lab program offered previously?
No. Learning Lab has been completely refreshed with a new curriculum designed to reflect today's legal, regulatory, and operational realities. All sessions were newly developed and recorded to provide current, foundational training for mortgage servicing and default servicing professionals.
ARE SESSIONS LIVE OR RECORDED?
All Learning Lab sessions are pre-recorded and available on demand. Participants can access the full library of videos at their convenience and progress through the curriculum at their own pace.
Do I have to complete the 101 curriculum before VIEWING the 102 curriculum?
No. Participants have access to both the 101 and 102 sessions upon registration. While the 102 sessions are designed to build on concepts introduced in the 101 curriculum, participants may access sessions based on their learning needs and experience level.
CAN i COMPLETE SESSIONS AT MY OWN PACE?
Yes. Participants can access Learning Lab sessions at their convenience and progress through the curriculum at their own pace. While sessions are designed to build on one another, individual sessions may also be viewed independently to support specific training goals or areas of interest.

Yes. Participants can download session outlines and presentation materials from The USFN Source for future reference. Learning Lab videos are hosted on The USFN Source and are available for on-demand viewing at any time, but they cannot be downloaded.
HOW DO I SUGGEST TOPICS FOR FUTURE LEARNING LAB CONTENT?
USFN welcomes feedback and ideas for future Learning Lab sessions and educational resources. If there is a topic you would like to see covered in a future update, please submit your suggestion to [email protected] for consideration.
HOW DID LEARNING LAB COME TO BE & HOW HAS IT EVOLVED?
Learning Lab was born out of necessity. When the pandemic brought in-person gatherings to a halt in 2020, USFN — with Doug Oliver leading the charge through the Education Committee — launched the original eight-session program to ensure default servicing professionals could still access foundational training. The response was immediate and enthusiastic.

Building on that momentum, four additional modules (Learning Lab 2.0) were introduced in 2021, followed by four more (Learning Lab 3.0) in 2022. Each year, the Education Committee reviewed all sessions for accuracy, relevance, and quality to ensure the content reflected current legal, regulatory, and operational realities. Collectively, the three programs reached more than 1,000 professionals across the default servicing industry.

After careful consideration, the Education Committee made the decision to sunset all three Learning Labs effective December 31, 2024. Almost immediately, servicers made clear they weren't ready to let go — and their feedback set something new in motion. Through the Education Committee, Christianna Kersey led the effort to completely reimagine the program: new content, new speakers, and a new home on The USFN Source. The result is the Learning Lab you're exploring today.

TEAM TRAINING

can our organization use this for onboarding training?
Absolutely. Learning Lab was created to support onboarding, refresher training, and cross-functional education across mortgage servicing and default servicing teams. With 101- and 102-level content available on demand, organizations can use the program to help establish consistent foundational knowledge while reducing the need to develop training materials internally.
is the content appropriate for cross-training staff?
Yes. Learning Lab is designed to support cross-training by providing a comprehensive overview of the default servicing lifecycle and the roles, processes, and concepts that intersect throughout it. Team members can use the curriculum to broaden their understanding of functions outside their day-to-day responsibilities and strengthen collaboration across departments.
how can I register multiple team members?
Each participant should be registered individually to ensure they receive access to Learning Lab and The USFN Source. If you need assistance registering multiple team members at one time, please contact [email protected], and a member of the USFN team will be happy to assist you with the registration process.
